back in action
been a long time coming, a lot of work and hella lessons learned…but i’m driving my ride again! it’s a shadow of it’s former self in the power department, but she still looks pretty
hopefully i’ll know if i’m going to move to japan or not soon. if not, my k24 swap will be back underway in full effect! i’ll try and get some better pix soon.

with the craziness of the recent events in Japan, the Navy has froze all transfers to Japan. so now i’m hanging out in SD just waiting to see WTF they want to do with me. I almost didn’t get to leave deployment because of this. Luckily i can bullshit my way out of alot of things haha. Got myself some decent temporary orders. Another plus note, i got that shitty engine to work! turned out to be the fuckin PCV valve making my idle shit. and the engine runs fine. just gotta find time to get a extension pipe made for my low hanging cheap ass b16 header (i got a gsr head.) and i’ll be on the road! stuff never goes the way you think it will sometimes

Well, seems all this bullshit I’ve been thru with this car just did not pay off. I rolled the dice buying this used engine, and crapped out. Hey, it happens. I might be able to fix the issues, but honestly I’m not going to. I’m going to use my free storage on my wife’s car, and just pay to store mine. I’ve spent a lot of time running between SD and LA to get parts for this POS engine. Made some freinds…and some enemies :/ Thankfully I’m not out TOO much money (prob like $2,ooo). I did have some adventures getting all the parts and help I needed to make this disaster happen to . Not to mention the things I’ve learned. Can’t put a price tag on knowledge right? I’m kinda glad my wife wants to keep her car, actually a big relief not trying to sell her car in 2 weeks and trying to finish mine. Two issues solved in one shot. I do wish i would have spent this $2k on parts for my k swap tho. I could have installed it about 95% of the way by now ….God, I hope that one runs @_@

The install from hell continues.. i rolled the dice buying this engine in the first place. mainly because i don’t care if it sux, long as it runs and can be driven to storage on the Navy’s dime… fixed the bad distributor issue. ordered off ebay on Thrusday, showed up on Friday by 1500!! sweet…starts right up! check under hood…WTF!! oil SPEWING out from somewhere. head gasket on correctly? yea. cam seal leak? maybe. is that coolant to? WTF. is that brake fluid? major WTF! a little detective work and i check the vtec solenoid… NO GASKET. thanx Honda guy i bought the motor from, real fuckin smart asshole. Run to dealer, buy a gasket. No more leaks
(other fluids were just residual from installing motor) it runs now, but now i have a mystery vacuum leak or something causing an erratic idle. troubleshooting continues. as does the clock, i deploy on Friday and duty Thursday!! good news is, i sold all my old b series shit mostly, and only have one motor vice three sitting on my floor now….and i’m still not on the affiliates page X_X

POS storage motor in! won’t start tho :/ dizzy tested out to be bad, ordering a new one tomorrow i guess. no one has a used one local, WTF! hopefully that’s why i got no spark, and I’ll be on my merry way to storing the car in all show and no go mode, until my return from japan in three years @_@ then it’s k24a2 time!

sorry for the major lag in updates! I’ve been mad busy here. I’m moving to japan in April for a minimum of THREE years! this is awesome, but put a HUGE damper on the progress and motivation of my k swap. as of right now i am somewhat trying to sell it all, and put a b series back in the ride. i wouldn’t waste the time, money or effort, but the navy will pay for my storage, as long as the car runs. $1500 now, is alot better than $250/month out of pocket storage. plus i can drive my car for a few more months. i currently have a engine made out of a bunch f leftovers LOL i hope it runs… currently on my hustle and grind tho to make some dough and get this clean jdm gsr full swap from a local. hopefully it works out and my car is at least a little enjoyably fast for the next few months. either way it’ll only be a shadow of its former fully built all out race motor LOL…i’ll be back with more updates once i get an engine in! hopefully picking up a nice cam soon as well. def want to take alot of pictures of life in the motherland

so i went thru with the ever popular k swap. I’m near the end of the tunnel, but a big bump emerged… I’m moving to Japan for 3 YEARS! soooo i thought of selling everything, then said FUCK THAT. no way I’d get what all this is worth, and i want to finish this project. i will stack parts while in the mother land, and finish the build a little before i move back on a leave visit or two. the setup is a train wreck k24a2 with 8 factory miles on it, and a dc5R tranny with factory LSD. skunk2 header, hybrid racing shifter, chasebays full tuck harness, circuit hero intake, competition stage 4 clutch and 9lb flywheel,….and more haha i may do a mild build on it , but i really want to keep it close to OEM. but we’ll see, i plan on parking an IS_F next to it when o come back to the states…

man, big day today! FINALLY made e6! 5% advancement rate, and i made it
76 out of 1200 i think it was. not gonna lie, feels pretty good…also today, i was driving to work in my db8, cruising along. car started making a rattle noise, and was just like wtf, FML. still not sure what it is, but it’s def not motor related because it doesn’t do it in neutral or up on jack stands in gear revving it up… still poking around…but i decided it’s time to part out this beastly b series and go k. don’t get me wrong, i love the power and sound of this thing, but daily driving a full race spec, hi compression engine gets a little old in stop and go traffic. k series will give me the same power with barely any mods, and be agillzion times more reliable and streetable. so, a little more hunting on the source of the sound, and I’ll prob be parting out this engine. on to the next one…..somebody bring me back some money please haha

so, yea major fail on my part on getting coverage up
there’s pix all over the place so I’ll just post a few. over all a very fun meet, and very long day. got up at 4AM. picked up my buddy at 5AM, met loi at his shop (sportcar motion) at 6, then we caravaned up with him, Morgan jade’s real ctr, Jose’s sick dc5, some dude’s k20′d ek and me. set up our spots and chilled the rest of the day. ended up not getting much coverage from peeps, price to pay for parking next to literally 7-10 super street cover cars LOL but, I’m getting featured in Honda tuning soon, so wish me luck on the cover! see how much love the simple and clean look can get @_@ it’s an honor just to be considered tho, so it’s all good…well on to some unedited pix haha! ( I’ll be better on the next event , i swear)
