Just Drift Top Drift Round 1
Hello everyone! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but I’ve been busy focusing my priorities. So I am now employed and loving life as of right now. Hooray!
This past weekend was Just Drift Top Drift Round 1. For those who don’t know, Top Drift is a amateur competition in Southern California where drifters battle it out in a series of events to win prizes and what not. I’ve had the opportunity, along with Cody Chan, to help our good friend Kenny Chieu in his Toyota MR-S, to carry his belongings in order to compete in the competition. Kenny managed to make 2 great qualifying runs and managed to take the 2nd best qualifying spot out of the 60 drivers that participated! We were so surprised that we made it this far to the top 16 that we didn’t know what to do. Then it was tandem time (2 cars go at the same time, where the following car has to mimick the lead car). It was Kenny’s first serious tandem and he managed to tackle the 1st opponent.. HELL YES, TOP 8! Next up was Eric Hill, a Formula D licensed driver, well how the hell is he going to beat this guy… Well they go at it, dead even on both sides…. we await results… ONE MORE TIME! Hell yes! by this time, Codi, Myself, Paul Kim, and Marco are all jumping for joy! They go at it… Kenny is super agressive on the 1st run, super angle, then he spins… 
that’s ok next run… Eric Hill is the lead car and Kenny follows, they go at it, but sadly that V8 powered 240sx is just way to fast and Kenny is trying his best to keep the gap close. We await results and Eric Hill takes the win… It was a sad moment, but we were happy that we made a statement that the underdogs have a fighting chance. RunDevilRun
